It’s the main ingredient in injera, the spongy sourdough flatbread that serves as both plate and utensil in traditional meals. Ethiopia is widely recognized as the birthplace of coffee, where the legend of Kaldi the goat herder discovering coffee beans first began. The Ethiopian coffee ceremony is a beautiful ritual that brings communities together, involving the roasting, grinding, and brewing of coffee beans in a traditional clay pot called a jebena.
